Local SEO: how to show up in “near me” searches

Google Business Profile, reviews, NAP consistency and district pages — step by step for a local business.

A shop front on a street

“Hairdresser near me”, “bursa auto service”, “osmangazi body shop” — the business that appears in these searches is the business that gets the customer that day. Local SEO works differently from national SEO, and the good news is that there is less competition.

Complete your Google Business Profile

  • Choose the category correctly; the main category directly affects ranking
  • Keep opening hours, the service list and photos up to date
  • Post at least once a month so the profile stays alive
  • Do not leave the questions section empty

Reviews are the fuel of ranking

The number and freshness of reviews is one of the strongest local ranking signals. A one-sentence reminder at handover and a QR link multiply the review count in a few months. Calm replies to negative reviews also earn points.

NAP consistency

The business name, address and phone must be written identically everywhere: on the site, in the profile, in directories. Even “St.” versus “Street” weakens the match.

District and service pages

Create separate pages for service × area combinations: “Osmangazi body repair”, “Nilüfer ceramic coating”. Each page needs real information about that area; copy-paste pages do not work.

Reaching the top three locally is both easier and more profitable than reaching the first page nationally.
