Getting a site to 100 takes a day. The real problem is still being there three months later. Here is how the score crept back and how I automated the measurement.
Three things that drop the score
- Large images uploaded from the panel (when conversion is not automatic)
- Third-party scripts added later
- Font changes and late-loading resources
The fix is not leaving measurement to a person: I run Lighthouse on every deploy and block the release when it falls below the threshold.
